Description of Practice
PAULA H. NOE, named a ‘WOMAN OF DISTINCTION IN LAW AND PUBLIC SERVICE’ by the Massachusetts Association of Women Lawyers, and ‘BOSTON’S BEST’ by The Boston Phoenix, practices family law (especially Collaborative Law) and mediates complex family issues (including divorce, pre- and post- marital agreements and elder family issues). She also represents clients in divorce, pre- and post-marital agreements, complex property, support and parenting issues. She counsels families in avoiding crisis (using mediation, negotiation, collaborative law, parenting coordination, prenuptials, postnuptials, etc) or in resolving the crisis (pursuing divorce, post-divorce, co-parenting issues, custody, paternity, same sex partnerships/divorces, etc). She emphasizes communication with her clients and the other parties, and believes in pursuing resolution as the best protocol for most families.
Paula is Past President and a founding member of the Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council. She has trained other professionals in Collaborative Law for the Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council and for the American Bar Association and is currently Co-Chair of the Family Law Committee of the American Bar Association’s Dispute Resolution section. She also serves on the Collaborative Law Committee of the American Bar Association section of Dispute Resolution, and on its Ethics subcommittee where she co-authored its 2008 Ethics position paper.
